Story Forge is an automated story creation wizard that streamlines the entire process from article selection to completed story.

Accessing Story Forge
- Navigate to My Stories
- Click Story Forge (available to Author and Loremaster tiers)
- The multi-step wizard opens
Step 1: Article Selection
Select source articles for your story:
- Browse Articles - View all available articles from ingested sources
- Filter by Source - Focus on specific RSS feeds or news sources
- Search - Find articles by keyword
- Select Multiple - Check articles to use as source material
- Preview - Click to read article content before selecting
Step 2: Configuration
Configure your story generation:
- Title - Enter a title or leave blank for AI generation
- Genre Template - Select from Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Mystery, Romance, etc.
- Tone - Choose the narrative tone (dramatic, humorous, dark, etc.)
- Instructions - Add custom guidance for the AI
Available Tones

Step 3: Provider Selection
Choose your AI provider:
- Local Ollama - Uses your local Ollama installation (faster, no cloud costs)
- RunPod - Cloud-based generation (requires cloud credits)
- Credit Cost - Shows estimated credits for generation
Step 4: Review & Launch
Review your configuration before launching:
- Summary - Articles, genre, provider settings
- Estimated Cost - Credits that will be consumed
- Launch - Click to begin story generation
- Save Draft - Save configuration to launch later
Generation Progress
Monitor your story as it generates:
- Progress Bar - Shows overall completion
- Section Status - Each section's generation state
- Live Updates - Real-time status via WebSocket
- Cancel - Stop generation if needed
Tips for Best Results
- Select related articles - Stories flow better when source material has thematic connections
- Be specific with instructions - Tell the AI exactly what you want
- Start with fewer articles - 2-4 articles usually produce the most coherent stories
- Experiment with tones - Different tones dramatically change the story feel
Version History
All Story Forge creations include full version history:
- Automatic Saves - Versions are created when you make significant edits
- Compare - See differences between any two versions
- Restore - Revert your story to a previous version
- Preview - Read any version without restoring
